Midsize Jet Charter in Martinsville, IN

A midsize jet seats about seven to nine passengers, cruises in the mid-400 knot range and flies most trips of three to five hours without a fuel stop. One person on our team handles your charter from the first quote until you land.

When a midsize jet is the right aircraft

Midsize jets such as the Hawker 800XP, Citation XLS+ and Learjet 60 sit between light jets and super-midsize aircraft. Most people can stand or nearly stand in the cabin. There is an enclosed lavatory at the back, and the baggage hold takes golf bags and full-size suitcases that a light jet can't. Range runs roughly 1,800 to 2,500 nautical miles, depending on model, load and winds.

That makes it the usual pick for groups of five to eight flying from central Indiana to Florida, Texas, the Northeast or Colorado. For shorter hops with three or four people, a light jet or turboprop charter often costs less for about the same total travel time. For a full coast-to-coast run with a bigger group, a super-midsize jet is the better fit.

You deal with one person the whole way. They size the aircraft to your passenger count and bags, check runway length at the airports you want to use, and stay your contact through departure and the return leg.

What your midsize jet charter includes

An all-inclusive quote

Flight time, fuel, crew, landing and FBO handling fees, and federal excise tax are listed together. No hidden costs show up after you fly.

Point to point pricing

You pay for the legs you fly. On a one-way trip, you never pay round trip pricing.

Two-pilot crew

Midsize jets fly with a captain and a first officer. Crew duty-time limits are planned into the schedule before we quote, so a long day doesn't force a surprise overnight.

Cabin and connectivity

Club seating and a side divan seat seven to nine passengers. WiFi equipped aircraft are available, so tell us if your team needs to work in flight and we match the aircraft to it.

Pets allowed

Pets are allowed on board. Let us know their size and number so the crew can plan seating and crate placement.

Catering and ground details

We arrange catering through the departure FBO and pass your arrival needs to the destination FBO, so the details sit with the same person who booked the jet.

Signs a midsize jet fits your trip

  • Six or more passengers

Light jets top out around six or seven seats, and a full one gets tight on bags. With six or more travelers, a midsize cabin keeps everyone and their luggage on one aircraft.

  • More than two and a half hours aloft

A usable lavatory and room to stand matter more with every hour. Past about two and a half hours, most groups feel the difference.

  • Bulky luggage

Golf clubs, ski bags and sample cases fit in the external hold. On some models, bags stored in the internal compartment can be reached during the flight.

  • A tight business day

A team can fly out in the morning, hold meetings and be back the same evening, working on WiFi en route instead of sitting through airline connections.

  • Western trips you want nonstop

Westbound legs into a headwind often force a fuel stop in a light jet with a full cabin. A midsize usually makes the trip without one.

How a midsize charter comes together

  1. 1

    Call with your trip

Give us dates, passenger count, bags, pets and the airports you prefer. Your contact asks about anything that changes the aircraft choice, such as a short runway at the destination.

  2. 2

    Aircraft options and quote

We source available midsize aircraft and crews from operators and give you an all-inclusive quote for each option. Your contact explains the real differences, like cabin height or range with your load.

  3. 3

    Confirmation and trip sheet

Once you approve, you get the departure FBO, the aircraft tail number and catering details. If plans shift, you call the same person who built the trip.

  4. 4

    Departure day

Arrive at the FBO about 15 to 20 minutes before departure. There is no terminal security line. The crew loads your bags and you board. In winter, the operator handles de-icing before takeoff.

  5. 5

    After you land

Your contact follows the flight and the return leg. Questions about the invoice go to the same person, and it should match the quote you approved.

What drives the cost of a midsize jet charter

Midsize charter is priced mainly on flight hours, then adjusted for the days and airports involved. Because we price point to point, you are quoted for the legs you actually fly. Every quote is all-inclusive, so unless the trip itself changes, the figure on paper is the figure you pay.

Flight time and model
Hourly rates vary by aircraft. A Citation XLS+ and a Hawker 800XP burn fuel at different rates and are priced differently, and headwinds lengthen westbound legs.
Days between legs
If the jet and crew wait for you overnight or for several days, crew lodging and daily minimums can apply. Sometimes two separate one-way flights cost less than holding the aircraft, and your contact prices both.
Airports and FBOs
Landing, parking and handling fees differ by airport. Busy destinations on peak weekends charge more.
Season and timing
Holidays, big sporting events and winter de-icing raise costs. Booking early leaves more aircraft to choose from.
Load
Heavy bags plus a full cabin can cut range enough to require a fuel stop or a larger aircraft.

Midsize jet charter questions

Something not covered here? (765) 544-5538

How many people fit on a midsize jet?

Most seat seven to nine. For a long trip with full luggage, six to eight is the comfortable range. If you have nine passengers and heavy bags, we will price a super-midsize jet too so you can compare.

Can I stand up in the cabin?

Cabin height is about five feet eight inches on most midsize models and a bit more on newer flat-floor designs like the Citation Latitude. Most adults can stand or nearly stand. Tell us if headroom matters and we will narrow the options.

What happens if the jet has a mechanical problem?

The operator keeps the aircraft on the ground until the issue is fixed, and we line up a replacement aircraft. Mechanical insurance covers up to 100% of the replacement flight cost. You hear about it from your contact, not from someone new.

Can I book a midsize jet on short notice?

Often, yes. It depends on which aircraft and crews are open that day. We take calls 24/7 and will tell you plainly what is available and what it costs.

Do I have to sign a contract or prepay hours?

No. There are no long term commitments. You book the trip you need, pay for that trip, and you are done.

Is an empty leg a cheaper way to fly midsize?

It can be, when a midsize jet is repositioning along your route. The timing is set by the operator's other trip, so you need flexible dates. Our Empty Leg Flights page explains how it works.
